Urban Slab & Timber

Did you know that tree services must either store or pay to get of organic waste, such as logs, brush & chips? 

For years, we contributed to this waste cycle. One day, one of our team members hired a Sawyer to mill a log from our waste pile. He made the most beautiful hardwood, live-edge table and had slabs to spare! At that point, the choice to UP-cycle became clear. Now many of the trees that we remove from Omaha residences are milled, kiln-dried and offered locally at the Urban Slab & Timber public show room. 

Their live edge lumber is sold to the general public out of their indoor showroom in Irvington. Since all of the wood is salvaged, there is a rotating inventory of  species that are not commonly milled, such as Box Elder, Tulip Poplar, Osage Orange & more!

These locally sourced live-edge slabs & rough-cut timbers are used to create custom furniture and unique art all over the Omaha metro. We love that by ethically salvaging wood from the Urban forests of the Heartland, we can alleviate an issue for our tree service AND provide the community with a unique product.

Our team at Marv’s Tree Service has personally handled each of these trees, and gotten to know the people that have cared for them over the years (Even decades!). We know & appreciate the history that accompanies each slab. This collaborative effort ensures their story continues.
