Were you here for the October 1997 snowstorm? The July 31, 2024 windstorm? Both?
We want to see what you remember.
Share your photos and stories and help us preserve a little piece of Omaha storm history.

Marv’s Tree Service has been caring for Omaha’s trees since 1964. We’ve seen a lot of Nebraska weather in those 62 years—but some storms become part of the city’s history.
1997 and 2024 were two of them.
What happened on your street? Which storm seemed worse where you lived? Did you lose a tree? Did one somehow survive?
We’re collecting photos and memories from across the Omaha area for an upcoming community storm gallery.
Old snapshots are absolutely welcome.
Have a 1997 photo sitting in an album or shoebox? Take a clear phone picture of it or scan it. It doesn't need to be professional. Sometimes the ordinary photos tell the best stories.
Which storm do you remember? What happened where you lived?
Share as much or as little as you'd like. Photos are optional—but we'd love to see them.
We’ll be going through the submissions and putting together a gallery of Omaha storm memories from across the years.
Our goal isn’t just to collect pictures of broken trees.
It’s to preserve a little piece of what Omaha experienced—the neighborhoods, the cleanup, the trees we lost, the trees that survived and the stories people still remember years later.
Check back soon to see the gallery.
